The adventure begins in the capital, Bogota, and continues with a taste of the best coffees in Armenia. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Quindio and the small colonial villages in the surrounding area, before flying to Medellin. Finally, head to the colorful Cartagena de Indias, with a day in the Rosario islands, to soak up its tropical vibe.

Day 1: Home – Bogota

Ready to experience the colorful culture of Colombia? Head to your departure airport to catch your flight*. Touch down in Bogota, the sprawling, high-altitude capital, and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bogota.

*If your inbound or outbound flight departs in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

Day 2: Bogota

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin the day with a panoramic tour of the historic center of Bogota, full of colonial style architecture. Visit the Banco de la República art museum, home to the largest Botero collection.

Continue to Plaza de Bolivar, admire the Palacio de San Carlos and Casa de Nariño, enter the Gold Museum, and ascend the Cerro de Monserrate to enjoy one of the most privileged views of the city. The afternoon is free to enjoy the city’s lively atmosphere. Make sure you try a delicious cup of the famous Santa Fe chocolate! Overnight in Bogota.

Please note: the Gold Museum is closed on Mondays, the Botero Museum on Tuesdays and there is no ascent to Cerro Monserrate on Sundays- you’ll visit the Casa Quinta de Bolivar Museum instead.

Day 3: Bogota – Coffee Axis

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Armenia, at the heart of Colombia’s coffee-growing region. Known for its lush landscapes and fertile valleys where coffee plantations thrive. Take advantage of the day to savor the authentic taste of Colombian coffee through our optional excursion to Hacienda Combia*. Overnight in Coffee Axis.

*Combia Inspiration Coffee Experience (optional, $69/person): enjoy a welcome drink before touring the different rooms. Learn about coffee production through an interactive exhibition and visit the place where the pulping, fermentation and drying processes take place. Finally, enjoy a wonderful selection of specialty coffees.

Day 4: Coffee Axis

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning head towards the colorful city of Filandia for a guided tour. Stroll through its classic colonial streets, visit the main park, the parish María Inmaculada and the street known as ‘the street where time stood still’.
Next, ascend to the Quindío viewpoint, from where we can appreciate a beautiful panoramic view of coffee plantations. Continue towards the incredible Cocora Valley, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.
Upon arrival toast with a welcome traditional “canelazo” cocktail and begin the hike through the cloud forest to appreciate its striking biodiversity. Return via the wax palm eco trail, the tallest in the world and national flagship tree.
Enjoy free time for lunch (not included) and finish the tour in Salento, where you’ll take a short walk to see the Bolivar Square, the Royal Street, craft workshops and Cocora viewpoint. Return and overnight stay in Coffee Axis.

Day 5: Coffee Axis – Medellin

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to fly to Medellin, known as “the city of eternal spring” for its pleasant climate all year round. Arrive in the hillside city and take a private transfer to the hotel, catching sight of the captivating skyline along the way. Overnight stay in Medellin.

Day 6: Medellin

Breakfast at the hotel. Start the day with a guided tour of Medellin. Visit the Casa Museo de la Memoria, take the cable car up to the neighborhoods of La Sierra and Comuna 13, two urban areas that were once epicenters of illicit activity, but are now touristic areas thanks to social transformation.
Discover how artists have helped drive the progress of these neighborhoods through music and graffiti. The rest of the day is free for you to continue exploring the city at your own pace. Overnight stay in Medellín.

Day 7: Medellin

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Why not take a walk around El Poblado neighborhood and eat at one of its upmarket restaurants. We recommend disconnecting surrounded by nature by heading on our optional excursion to Guatapé*. Overnight stay in Medellín.
*Peñol & Guatapé Excursion (optional, $205/person): begin walking through Marinilla, a town full of colonial architecture and famous for the production of musical instruments, before arriving at the well-known rock. Climb the Peñol to admire the incredible views. End with a relaxing one-hour walk along the reservoir. Lunch included.

Day 8: Medellin – Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Cartagena de Indias. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Cartagena sits on the Caribbean coast and is one of the main ports in Colombia. It is increasingly up-and-coming, has a plethora of bars and restaurants and is home to colorful streets and leafy plazas, perfect for exploring! Overnight stay in Cartagena.

Day 9: Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off on an enchanting boat trip to the Rosario islands. Self-transfer to the port to catch your shared speedboat. During the journey appreciate the beautiful Bay of Cartagena and Boca Chica, where the San Fernando and San José forts are located.
After your arrival, spend the day enjoying the beach, soaking up the sunshine, swimming and snorkeling in the wonderfully mild waters. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch (included). If you wish, opt to visit the San Martín de Pajares Aquarium (entrance fee not included).
At the indicated time, return to the mainland and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to continue enjoying the wonderful tropical atmosphere of the city. Overnight in Cartagena de Indias.
Please note: the San Martín de Pajares Aquarium is closed on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays.

Day 10: Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy your last day at leisure purchasing some last minute souvenirs and enjoying the local food and atmosphere. To make the most of the trip and get to know this colorful city in depth, we recommend our optional panoramic tour of Cartagena de Indias*. Overnight stay in Cartagena.
*Optional panoramic tour of Cartagena de Indias (optional, $42/person): start with a walk through the main neighborhoods of the city: Bocagrande, Castillogrande and Manga, to the Castle of San Felipe (entrance included). Continue to the Church of San Pedro Claver and finish with a walk among the wonderful walled city to encounter the charm of its squares, narrow streets and colorful balconies decorated with flowers.

Day 11: Cartagena de Indias – Home

Breakfast at the hotel*. Sadly it’s time to bid farewell to Colombia. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the US. Arrive in the US and end your trip.

*Depending on the return flight schedule and the hotel breakfast service, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast on the last day.
